"I am not afraid of anything." You always told yourself. But no matter how many times you lied to yourself you knew deep down that you were afraid of something. Thunderstorms. You and loved them at age 5 watching the lightning light up the dark sky and the web of energy spike across the sky. You had lost your mother while she gave birth. She was alive long enough to say "Welcome to the world Enola." You had been raised by your dad. Both your parents were only children and you never met your grandparents (who were also only children). He wasn't very good, with his drinking and drug problem, but he was all you had. That night changed everything. ~Hope you enjoy~ : )

I can remember the fear of the tree falling in front of my car, after it was struck by lightning. I can remember how it felt, cold rain on a summer afternoon pounded on my skin as I stepped out of my car. I was headed home to my parents house after graduating college. I remember the security I felt when he showed up, and told me everything would be okay, and to stay in my car. I remember the rain stopping and him getting to work removing the tree. I remember when his gray eyes looked into my green ones, as he woke me up to tell me it was clear. I remember my heart never beat the same after him.
