"I don't like Stephan Blaze, I swear. I don't even know him. Gosh you guys don't be so crazy." I laughed nervously, hoping they'd believe the lie. I couldn't lose my reputation. Holly Davidson doesn't love the bad boy, so she says. Holly is your typical high school queen bee; head cheerleader, class president, perfect grades, perfect looks and of course the quarterback boyfriend. All the guys literally throw themselves at her, except Stephan Blaze. He has no interest in Miss Holly at all. In fact, he thinks she's a total prep bitch. But after they're both assigned lab partners in chemistry they have no choice but to talk to each other, both hoping they don't have to speak much but just enough so they can get a good grade. But their conversations lead to more than just the plans for their next chemistry assignment.

Nate has this best friend who is the biggest jerk in school, school's player, bad boy, Aiden Throns. Nate tells Aiden that he really likes Charlotte. Aiden and Nate are like brothers, I mean, Nate was adopted by Aiden's parents, so Aiden cares about him, like he is his biological brother. Aiden thinks that Charlotte is using Nate for his brain, because Nate is a super smart guy, knowing Charlotte, she had a brain tumor, so she isn't the brightest/smartest.
