My eyes widened in complete terror as I let the scene before me, sink in. I realized my body was paralyzed. I forced myself to budge from the marble floor. Once I managed to move my frozen feet, my instincts kicked in and I wheeled around on the edge of my heels and started to run fast as lightning.
When I dared to look back, I still felt the cryptic shadow, silently following my every move.
I raced up on the flight of stairs and I jerked the door to my room open and slammed it shut. I panted hard and I felt a shiver run down my spine.
Whatever that was, I knew it would never leave me alone for the rest of my life.
