He handed you a white rose, then brushed back your hair and whispered in your ear, in a language you didn't understand. You watched his back as he walked away, his crisp suit laying perfectly against his small frame.
Even his back radiated power.
Once he turned the corner, leaving you a hot mess in a tangle of bodies, a message came to your head. 'Keep it. And listen to everything it tells you, kitten.'
Your hand shakes and you stare at the rose. The stem was black and there wasn't a blemish or a petal out of place. 'Shit,' you think, turning back to board the subway. You almost take a step before realizing it was gone. Shit!
