I stand perfectly still.
I can hear him behind me as he slows his breathing so it is in perfect sync with mine. I dry a lone tear that has escaped from my left eye and has made it's way halfway down my cheek.
"We can't keep doing this." I breathe, barely above a whisper.
"You can't keep running. Especially from me. I'm trying to help you." He whispers back.
"I know." I look down at my feet, listening to each breath he takes.
"You know he won't like this." I don't even have to say his name.
"I know." I hear him step closer and I can feel his breath on my neck.
"Then why? Why do you even bother?" I turn around and look into his eyes.
My breath catches in my throat as I notice his beautiful, hazel eyes. No matter how many times I see them, they never cease to amaze me. He takes another step towards me and puts his hands on my hips.
"Kiss me." He whispered into my ear, his breath hot on my neck.
"I can't. It would be wrong." I say, not meaning a single thing.
"It's not wrong if it's saving you." He whispers back.
"We already talked about this." I attempt to push away, but I can't fight the urge to be near him. I want to feel his lips on mine.
"Let me save you." He whispers one last time before I give up my battle.
He presses his lips to mine and my eyes fall closed.
