Born at the beginning of Robert's rebellion she earned the name Battleborn. At the end of the rebellion, she was soon left with no land, power, money, or parents leaving only her name and her siblings. Rheanys Battleborn grows up in the Free Cities as the wife of Viserys and the mother figure to Daenerys. Surviving in the Free City of Pentos Rheanys knows what her brother plans to do with their baby sister yet she has no power and is unable to do so. 

So as Daenerys Targaryen is wed to a powerful Dothraki lord, she learns to grow in power, escaping from her brother obedient and abusive clutches as she guides her older sister, Rheanys do to the same.  The two Targaryen siblings learn the true meaning of power with the Dothraki as they finally realize the true meaning of their house motto "Fire and Blood."
