[Book 2 in the CODES series] || Roger, a cybernetic human with a second chance at life, must face the truths of every lie he's told or risk the possibility of losing it all... ** A year after the "Digital War," Roger had his second chance at life. It was owed to him, a forgotten promise made eighty years in the past by the founding fathers of the Province's prospering nations. He and the other "Codes" left abandoned within the silent computers of every living city would be brought back to life... And have their crimes forgiven and wiped from existence. Yet, finding a home in newly created bodies isn't easy for the new cyborg citizens. The Province may have reached its desired Utopian climate, but society itself was far from reach. So many refused to forget the pain every "Code" inflicted on their lives... Roger hadn't forgotten -- he chose to forget. But as those secret plans made before his original death return to the surface, Roger learns -- just as the Province did -- burying the past doesn't help heal old wounds. ** The gun fit so perfectly in my hands. It's metal, still warm from it's last fired bullet, brought back so many memories I'd learned to suppress. I didn't want to be the man standing in front of them, I wanted to grow and change. But let society remind me of my place... "Roger, don't!" Clara's tearful face came in front of me as she tried to take the gun from my hands. "Please, you don't have to do this!" I couldn't look at her. I didn't want to see the pain in her eyes. "That's the thing, Doll..." I tilted my head back and inhaled sharply. "I've got no other choice." The sound of a bullet firing never sounded so nice... Wildflowers In The Ruins: A 1917 Story by Snowdropsdream
18 parts Complete Mature
Completed fan fiction for the film 1917: This is the very first fan fiction I've ever attempted. Please be kind. I hope you like it. It features all of the main characters, several of the others, plus many I've created. Northern France, April 1917: A Voluntary Aid Detachment nurse is sent on an urgent mission across no-man's land accompanying two Lance Corporals, but she will have her own mission to fullfil also and be tested in ways she never deemed possible. Each chapter is named after a flower, relevant to the story, and that you can encounter growing in the wild, either in Britain or Northern France, with the exception of roses and Sweet William's. This story does contain spoilers from the film so it's really worth watching it first. Chapers two (from around halfway through) to eight I've taken directly from the film. The script is copyrighted to Sam Mendes and Krysty Wilson-Cairns, although I've worked from what's spoken in the film rather than off the script. I've taken inspiration from other films, television and books (fiction and non-fiction) set in the First World War too such as Forgotten Voices, The Roses Of No-Man's Land, War Horse, The Crimson Field, Private Peaceful, They Shall Not Grow Old, Testament Of Youth, Journey's End and Birdsong. I've also taken inspiration from the beautiful book A Song For Will which is based on the true story of the gardeners and labourers from the Heligan Estate in Cornwall. Every character who isn't featured in the film 1917 is fictitious and the names are entirely made-up, although every female character's Christian name in my story belongs to a female relative of mine who was alive at the time of the First World War, for example my four Great-grandmothers were Mary-Jane, Lavinia, Ada and Alice. The other names were from my Great and Great-Great-Aunts. Enjoy. ❤ 🌺 ☘ 🌻 💖 🍂 🌿 🌼 💗 🌲 🌸 🍃 💕 🌹 🌱 ⚘💝 🌳 🏵 💮 💌 🌾 💐 🍁 💞 🍀

New World Sasanaichs

16 parts Complete Mature

What would the World of "Outlander" be like, if Jamie'd long since been gone when Claire arrived, but no Time Travel on HIS part occurred - assuming Claire still found herself in the mid-18th Century in the first place, that is? What would it be like, if he'd managed to evade capture by the Watch, and therefore, never had to suffer torture that far exceeds words at the hands - and other body parts - of one Black Jack Randall? Meeting a different Healer he thinks is a mere Witch turns his Future on its head - but at the same Time, it saves his Life on more than one occasion. Even though it causes HIM to become a "Sasanaich", if one uses the definition of "outlander", having his Life saved sets the stage for a long, fruitful Life. Well, that's as long as he doesn't STILL manage to get himself killed after making the voyage to the New World, that is...
