The year is 2149, it's been 97 years since the nuclear apocalypse killed everything on earth, leaving the world simmering in radiation. Clarke Griffin never thought of herself as a rebel or a rule breaker, but when she gets arrested everything changes. Bellamy Blake only wished to protect his sister, he never dreamt of being sent down to earth.
One month before her eighteenth birthday, Clarke Griffin is escorted from her cell and onto a drop ship, along with 99 other delinquents. As the delinquents start building camp, it's obvious that they need a leader. What's not so obvious is who should fill that position.
Bellamy Blake and Clarke Griffin are complete opposites. Bellamy is tough and irrational, Clarke is gentle and diplomatic. Bellamy acts on feeling, Clarke acts on logic. Bellamy is the heart, Clarke is the head.
But after several life changing events, one thing is clear; Clarke and Bellamy aren't as different as they thought.
