The typical 'tough gang member', twenty-three-year-old Cody Cashman has some shoes to fill. Working at a music shop, he seems to stand in the shadow of his younger sister, a successful author and teacher in training. Getting in a few scruffs and fights of different kinds are the normal for him with his gang of 'friends', but the problems of his current relationship, combined with clinical depression, makes life more than a drag for him. But, with the help of friends, and through a dying relationship, he may just find a reason to smile.

Timid and soft-spoken eighteen-year-old Shelby had just gotten into an art college on a dancing scholarship, however, his choice of the arts among other things has led to bullying focused mainly on his sexuality and other so-called 'flaws'. Three jobs and a little secret is hard enough with keeping a scholarship while being avoided by your best friend for reasons you're oblivious to, not to mention a severe case of anxiety and horrible stutter due to a scarring past. But what's going to happen when this crybaby crosses paths with the tough guy he's always dreamed of? Is he really going to be the knight in shining armor Shelby's wanted since childhood? Or will their love only exist in his dreams?
