1995 École Saint-Augustin- the most honourable and elite boarding school in the heart of Paris. With it's Gothic architecture, forbidden electronic devices and a lingering gloomy atmosphere the school seems to still be stuck in the 16th century.

Jasper Prescott is from a lower middle class family in Manchester. All he has ever wanted to do is attend The Academy. Well that, and become the most acclaimed writer of his generation.

Hugo Courtois has been the black sheep of the Academy as far as he can remember. He is notorious for causing the most trouble but also for outsmarting everyone with his wit and sharp words.

They are similar in a lot of ways, unfortunately their stubborn personalities prevent them from seeing it. Still the curious incidents happening in the Academy somehow bring them together and help them find themselves and each other along the way.
