Call Me Alfie - The Original Screenplay

In modern-day Cornwall where being different is much more accepted, "Call Me Alfie" tells the story of Ellie Taylor, a teenage girl who is just trying to get through her life at college with her friends. However, she's battling with internal conflicts within her. After one of her friends exposes her to one of their favorite YouTubers, Ellie slowly starts to realize why she has been feeling so confused about her identity - she is in fact, a transgender male trapped in the body of a young girl.
I originally created this screenplay as my final piece in the OCR Level 3 Extended Project Qualification back in June 2018 which I received an A overall. This is one of the first pieces of work that I am truly proud of so I hope you guys get to enjoy it as well!

Toby/Tubbo, better know as Alesha by the people around him, was put into the foster system when he was fourteen after a tragic incident in his family when he was eleven. Lani was killed next to him just a few weeks later. Tubbo was eleven when he was taken, and fourteen when he was rescued and put until the system. He bounced from home to home for some months for either "being to quiet" or "not being able to take a joke," when the joke caused him a panic attack from his two years of trauma. Other homes just didn't want to take on the trouble of caring for a traumatized kid once they found out how "hard" it was. One day, when Tubbo is put in a home with a family of four, the dad of the other three and one of the kids, who is Tubbo's age, take a strong liking to Tubbo, who they thinks his name is Alesha and is a girl. "God made everyone perfect, right? Then why is my existence a sin." Nick is a trans boy who is just trying to be himself. But sadly not everyone excepts him that way. His parents try really hard to get him to be a girl and after he got into a fight at school he has to go to detention where he meets a boy called Devin. While his own view about himself is challenged, he finds himself touching rock bottom. But Nick is just trying to be accepted as himself, Unapologetically. This is a story written for pride month 2024. Don't worry, I did do research about being trans, but if you are a trans person, and there is anything you feel like isn't right or lacking in this story, feel free to let me know! "What if I'm not one?" I asked, my body wound tight with tension. "One what?" he asked, his voice soft and low. I hesitated. Was I ready? I wanted to tell him so badly. Wanted to scream it from the fucking rooftops. But there would be no going back if I allowed the words to spill out into the world. Telling myself I didn't need someone else's validation, that I knew myself well enough to know with absolute certainty that I was trans was all good and well in principle. But lying here underneath my bed, with my best friend's body pressed so close to mine I could feel his warm breath on my face, I felt those convictions slip through my fingers. Danny's rejection would break me. In a fundamental way. "One what?" he repeated the question, scooting so close to me the tip of his nose brushed mine. Dust motes danced around us, suspended in mid air, teetering on the brink of this momentous feeling wrapping itself around us. I squeezed my eyes shut, pushing down the rush of anxiety trying to drown me. His nose bumped mine again and his breath ghosted over my lips. I opened my eyes and stared unblinkingly into his. 'A girl', I wanted to say, even though I knew the words would taste sour in my mouth, 'what if I'm not a girl?' -------------------------------------- Sean and Danny have been next door neighbours and best friends since they were six years old. This is a story of a happily married Chris, and his loving wife Meredith. Chris and Meredith enjoy their life together. Both have well paying jobs, a big house, plenty of good friends, and a healthy, loving marriage. That all changes however, upon a getaway to Florida, when Chris is transformed into a 13-year old girl. Now a girl, she discovers the challenges of being a young teenage girl, and learns to embrace her new identity. This is a full length novel that I've been working on for a while. Millie is a journalist with a strong sense of social justice, especially fighting for the social acceptance of transsexuals in religious community. John is a closeted cross dresser and highly successful. Coming from an earlier generation, and being older than his friends Millie and Francesca he gained their full acceptance. Francesca is a transgender Asian, who resulted to be a sex worker struggling to find a stable job because of the stigma of her sexual orientation in a very conservative community. The trio having each other, struggling in life: John's pre-onset mid-life crisis and coming out of the closet, Millie's existential crisis as a journalist and doubts on getting married, and Francesca adjusting to the life of a transgender woman getting on to a religious Christian society.
