Thea Phoenix Ember, 'Nix, is England's finest multilingual exorcist. She is the sucessor to her adoptive father Charles Ember- he died four years ago in battle against a demon and told his familiars to serve Thea from then onward. 

Thea has a strong vendetta against demons due to the death of her adoptive father but her own biology makes her mind her worst enemy.

Word is heard of similar deaths to Charles' in Japan and Thea is on a mission to find the demon that put her father in the ground. Too bad she's not the only one on a demon hunt.
