Mature
13-year-old Charlotte Foster is different. She goes to middle school, she's middle class, and she has a cat named Price. There's only one thing, though. She lives her life in a wheelchair after being shot. At the age of 5. There's a lot of twists and turns in her life, but she manages to get through them somehow.

Amy Kosgrov seems different, too. The most important person in her life is dying. She's a social outcast, which has caused her to become a vicious bully. Her father is abusive. Nobody gets her. Do the two girls learn to sympathize with each other?

Social Outcast

36 parts Complete

In case you came here to read a happy story about a happy person having a happy life, I suggest you simply go read something else. This is not a happy story, neither a story that will make you feel nice. This is life. This is Charlotte's life, the life of a seventeen year-old 'social outcast'. At least, this is how everyone defines her. "Why?" you may ask. Because, she had always been different; her appearance, her attitude, her social background just do not match with the kind of person you would like to meet. Cigarettes, drugs, abusive relationships, alcohol, depression, a past that will always haunt her, bad luck, the Underground and a pair of old, dirty Dr Martens boots is all her life is made of. She wanders around like a ghost, trying to find the meaning of life, until she meets Mason, the crazy boy, and her life is about to change. Will she ever get over her problems? Will she ever stop being the 'outcast' and have a normal life? Maybe she will. But maybe not.
