My name is Ivory. Ivory Everdeen-Mellark. My mother tells me my name is long because she didn't want to take my father's name and make it hers.
Years ago, I was clueless. I did not understand my father's deadly habits, my mother's addiction to hunting. I did not know the meadow's history, or the market's dark past. I did not know anything. But I eventually learned my parents' ways, why they held each other they way they did, why they always kissed the top of my head, why my mother sang, why they did not like it when me and my brother played games. Now I know. This is how I learned.

When I was eleven. My whole world changed. Katniss' dad died in a mining accident. You think it wouldn't affect me but I loved him just as much as Katniss did. Maybe even more than I loved my own father. I felt bad, that my own dad couldn't compare to Katniss'. He loved me too though. Loved me like his own. "I remember everything about you," I reply, repeating his words to me. I expect to regret my honesty, feeling like I've shared too much. But I feel like I haven't shared enough. I want to tell him everything about himself, to prove just how much I remember. But I don't. We just watch each other until the orange fades into dusky blue. ➳➳➳ In the years following the dismantling of the Hunger Games, Katniss rekindles the fire between her and Peeta. Over time, they grow back together, relearning to love every part of each other.
