The world of Nine Lives is much like our own, in every way except one; there are a select few people in the population of every country with a special ability. This may be moving things with your mind, to indestructible skin, to returning from the dead or manipulating electricity. Think you've heard this story before? Think again. For every power an OWPI may have - they have a disability to match it. Whilst a group of adopted teenage otherworldly powered individuals escape the hold of an abusive mother; a Russian assassin, hell bent on killing every OWPI she can find, follows the otherworldly powered young American vigilante, Hero Allman, to London. But when the MI6 start their attempts to stop her, a mad scramble over the children's lives begins. Otherworldly Powered Individual (OWPI): a person with extraterrestrial abilities given to them through an unnaturally evolved genome created by the exposure to an unlisted form of cosmic radiation. The decedents of those exposed to the genome in the use of the 'Cure for Madness' in the 1860s and 70s still have the side effects of it today, and for every power they have - a disability comes with it.
