Catherine Dawson had lived at the Academy from when she was a baby. The government had started a new program where unwanted babies were put into a carefully tailored environment, where they could grow to become the country's top crime fighters. Catherine is to graduate soon, but her education is cut short.

There had been a trail of murders across the country, all seeming random except for an ominous symbol found at the site of all of them. When the country's head detectives finally get a lead on the case, they learn something. Something very grave. Something that requires all students above a certain age at the Academy to go undercover across the country, on the world's greatest manhunt in history.

She has to stay impartial, but that becomes more difficult than any skill she's ever learned when she meets Daniel, a young Med student with a hard exterior. Catherine will have to balance this high-stress circumstances and her new crush, all while searching for the Aurum in Arizona.
