"Long ago, there were people who were gifted with special abilities, such as the control over fire, air, earth, and water. No person got the same ability as another.
     These people had to split their souls with another living being to live, due to their ability being so powerful. The other being that contained the person's soul was called a spirit animal, or bond animal. At the age of thirteen you would get your spirit animal. After meeting your spirit animal, a marking of the animal would appear somewhere on their body.
     Though, the humans soon grew jealous of their power and declared war on them. Sadly the humans won, and those who were gifted with abilities were killed off.
     Some say that there are people with abilities living far away, in a land unknown to human kind, though none have seen these people and made it back alive."
     I was walking by a small park when I heard a woman telling the story of the Gifted to three young children. I used to believe those stories were just small tales to tell to children at night, but I had been proven wrong my Sophomore year of high school. I was walking to meet up with a friend of mine when I had first met my bond animal. It was pretty terrifying when I got the mark, but I got over it.

One fateful day, while attending the annual Dragon Safe Arena, where dragons are brought to be killed for sport and fear, something extraordinary happens. A black dragon, larger and more majestic than any Torin has ever seen, enters the arena. The crowd erupts in excitement, but Torin feels an unexpected connection. The dragon's eyes lock onto his, and in that moment, he hears a voice-not in his ears, but in his mind. The dragon speaks to him, its words clear, yet impossible: "I see you, young one. You do not belong here." In a shock of realization, Torin understands the dragon's plea. No one else can hear it, no one else can understand the words-but Torin can. At that moment, everything changes. He chooses to defy the world he's always known, running away with the dragon, escaping the village that never understood him. As they journey together, seeking refuge in the wilds, they encounter other teens-four others-each of whom carries their own special gift. They, too, are misfits. One has the power to control the wind, another can manipulate shadows, a third can speak to animals, and the last can heal with a touch. The group of them, united by their unique abilities, form an unlikely family.

The dragons have come and gone since the Pliocene epoch when Wooly Mammoths roamed with humans during the ice age. For many of the I and E generation in the Americas and parts of Europe, it was something to avoid being taken by them to their world. But many knew the stories they told, the things they saw and missed, and in this world of social media, the child coming home, reborn as a shifter. For 16-year-old Nathan that was his reality. For 11 years he's not only avoided getting grabbed but helped others avoid a similar fate. But a black dragon was watching him grabbing him only to lay low in the nearby woods, something they did to pick out who'd they take. It did that for 10 years, more than 3 times longer than usual. His actions and the amount of time he had avoided them made him a sort of celebrity in his town in the midwest. But one day that black dragon made its decision, he was to be her hatchling. When they're usually marked the child could turn to protective mode, running from home to prevent drawing attention to other children for the picking, and that's what he did, right to where they last landed. Luck, choice, a possible spell in those claws, whatever you may think doesn't matter. A black dragon never misses its mark. With agility unsurpassed by the other types they're almost impossible to avoid. But these dragons didn't breathe fire, were a threat, nor in any way the size of a 747 max. All they had that was unique from other creatures was a highly evolved brain with the intelligence of a human and a heart of platinum. Note. Some creatures don't belong to me in any way. Infested: creators of Warframe (whatever the company is called) Symbiotes: Disney (since I'm pretty sure they bought Marvel) Xenomorphs: Universal Studios.

Krystal is a photogenic being meaning she can telepathically have you see pictures or sceneries that aren't there unless she focuses to intensify the moment at hand. Mr. Calmings is a rare species of fairy that's never been recorded in history but does exist. He possesses the gift of all energy in attacks or counter attacks. Let's take this journey with our young boy and his family across the world.

Every 100 years there's supposed to be a new one of us. But the newest one vanished when the world needed him most. Now people, are either fearful of us or hate us it sounds like. A voice came through to my head, more a whisper than a normal voice. Uncle Waller stood up and walked away. I embraced the cloak, my tears falling on it, as I remembered my fathers scent. "I don't know what happened... But I promise you this Father, I will find the person who did this to you, and make it pay for taking you away from our family". I swore with anger burning in my heart. "I must grow strong, just like Father, Uncle and Grandpa... I will become The strongest Warrior there ever was, you will see Father..." I walked back inside the house. "Allen... You have promise..." Said the whisper, "I will help you grow strong, and get Revenge..." Said the voice with sadness, "You are a very special Kid".

Bones cracking and fur sprouts out from my human skin to transform into my large black wolf. With one look at me, it was enough for my angel to faint. My wolf whimpers as her closes her eyes in shock and falls onto the bed. I hope she will accept us. My wolf lets out a sad howl in agreement.
