"Brooklyn I-" he started but she cut him off.

"I need a reason to stay," her voice fragile and barely over a whisper. "Because right now, this, it's not enough of a reason." She looked away, her eyes brimming with tears.

He looked at her, hurt evident in the deep greens of his beautiful eyes. He blinked away the tears and cleared his throat.
"Brooklyn, stay," he said simply.
She opened her mouth to speak but Robbie continued.
"I'm in love with you. But that's too little for a valid reason. You make me a better, stable person. Before you, I constantly fought with people and broke out in tantrums but now," he looked into her brown eyes. He swallowed hard.
"You're all I think about. The guys think I'm going soft because of you but I don't care. I want even the darkest fears and thoughts you have hidden away. I want to be there for when your sorrow is too heavy to handle. I want you to be able to love me the same way. Though the dark and the light, the thick and the thin. You're the only light I've ever actually known. And I want to keep you. I need you. I love you. And I hope you will let me continue to."

"All's fair in love and war, or some shit, right?" He said, his smirk drawing to a slight sneer as he padded towards the open balcony. He rested his hands on the guardrail before letting out an exasperated sigh, thunder rolling behind it. The rain cascaded onto the tile in sheets, blowing the soft cream curtains back and forth. "Or some shit." I smiled, walking towards him. I could see the tension grow in his back and shoulders, his struggle evident. I placed my hand gently on his shoulder, trying my best to reassure him. I could feel his breathing hitch slightly at my touch; his response was all I needed to reassure me I was doing the right thing. My touch was welcomed. Her eyes glistened with a dangerous mix of love and poison-a love that had no place in the world. A love that could only lead to destruction. "Do you regret it, Akanksha?" His words came out slowly, thick with dark amusement as he tipped the bottle, pouring his favorite wine over her neck. The crimson liquid dripped down her skin like a sinister promise. She trembled, the cold steel of the gun heavy in her hand. He chuckled deeply, savoring her helplessness, the sound vibrating through the room like a devil's hymn. But just as the tension between them simmered to a boil, his fingers tightened around her wrist. In one swift, merciless motion, he pulled the trigger. The echo of the shot hung in the air, but it wasn't the gunfire that haunted them-it was the undeniable bond that kept dragging them back into each other's arms. They were bound by something darker than love. A mistake-an unforgivable sin-that no one could ever understand. In each other, they found the chaos that mirrored their souls, drawn into a love so dangerous, so intoxicating, that neither could walk away. They had destroyed everything that stood in their way, and now there was nothing left to lose. Nothing left my mouth as I stared at him in shock. He truly believed that I was part of this. The man, who I had lived with and served for months. The man who I had protected with my life and soul. I stood still while, as he backed away from me quickly. "I trusted you with my life." His cry pierced around the empty room. He looked so destroyed and hurt, but mostly his face portrayed rage and determation. "And I protected you with mine." I spoke back loudly. I didn't hear myself say it but I knew I did. I look into his eyes even from our distance they seemed to wallow me in darkness. "I gave you mine." My voice was quiet and cracked. His face changed only for a second before his old one took over again. He doesn't believe me. It doesn't matter what I say or do he won't listen. He will still believe I am the bad guy. Just as Kane said, we will never be equals, we will never be fellow humans. We will always be monsters to them. "Yakov, I am not the bad guy." I plead one last time. His Russian accent comes out harsh with his next words. "Your right," he pauses, "you are the villain." I stumble back as if I had just been stabbed in the chest. It was a horrible feeling. It was never good with the emotions and yet I recognize the feeling as heart beak. I barely breathe in air as I regain my posture. A battle cry from somewhere distracts me momentarily. I suddenly remember Ewan. I glare at Yakov one more time before I take off after the cries of battle. Jade believes she started the war among the human and her kind. Nothing is as it was portrayed. The lies and the truth are hidden among each other. There is is no clear good and evil. How can there be if one does not know what is right and what is wrong. She was prepared to see death, prepared to inflict death upon others without mercy or remose. She was prepared to do her job which the Facility had given her. -- PROLOGUE "Let me get this straight. We have nothing in between us, except for the deal we made that day" he spoke in a monotonous tone. "I am the one carrying your name behind me; we are married. how can you say we have nothing in between us? Huh" She yelled at him, tears blurred her vision, and she spoke her heart to him. "For god's sake, this marriage was to save you! Can't you get that? I did not do it willingly, I do not love you!!" He yelled back at her, shattering her heart into pieces. "Why can't you just love me?" She spoke, as she cried the tears of hurt, and pain. Her heart thumped loudly due to the shivering sensation She felt all over her body. "I never made a commitment to you, or gave you any false hope, neither did i say that i love you. Did i?" He asked her, in a very cold tone. She looked at him through her teary eyes. It's getting difficult for her to even breathe. "It was your eyes, the damn eyes. Who gave me the false hope. They say, "Eyes speak the truth," but what about mine? Couldn't you feel the sincerity within them, expressing my deep affection for you? Why didn't you see the love shining in them? Was it too complex to understand? Couldn't you notice the warmth as they gazed at you? They search for you in every corner, If only you realized how they silently echoed the emotions I couldn't articulate. They say, "Eyes never deceive." But what about yours? They played a trick on me when they met mine, painting a facade of a world that wasn't real. They made me feel loved, Leading me into a belief that crumbled, louder than your spoken promises. Why did they betray me? Was it your eyes or you that masked the truth?" He stayed still, not moving or saying anything at her statement. --

The blood had already leaked down my forehead, but I kept my eyes on Shane and tried to blink quickly to clear my vision. "Hang on, please. Please hang on." He pleaded, holding my body up to a sitting position. I couldn't even remember what had struck me and I was getting nervous by Shane's worried face. "I'm... it hurts." I mumbled. "I'm so sorry." He held me closer. This time tears started to form in his dark green eyes but I could tell Shane didn't want to cry in front of me. My head started to feel more dizzy and I had to give in and close my eyes, much to Shane's dismay and his protests. I probably should've just listened to him from the start when he said don't go outside in this weather, but me being pissy with him and wanting to prove a point- I did and now I'm laying on the wet grass with a gash on my temple and an even bigger one on my leg. "We'll get you to Harvey." Shane said. I could hear his voice break at the end. He picked me up and started walking. "Please wake up." I wanted to so badly but I was exhausted from the hike and spending the night in the cold and shivering for hours. Shane's warm hands under my back and legs already felt way better. "This is all my fault. The one good thing to happen in my life...." Shane let out a sob but never stopped walking. I just wanted to hug him and tell him everything was going to be alright. I could feel the blood still tripping down my leg and face, so I knew I couldn't make false promises but Shane needed me. He needs me. I'm his anchor, I'm the girl he leans on when he's feeling like he's losing. I have to do this. I opened my eyes again. --CW-- Swearing Abuse Drinking NSFW Blood Painful backstories Book cover was done by me but I used a reference from stardewvalleycowboy because i've never drawn Shane before ^^.
