Monoland is not Heaven or Hell; it is a place somewhere in between. A world without colour, but full of possibilities; a monochrome world, where newcomers break the bonds with their past life, and those just stepping onto this plane change their perception and paradigms of existence forever. We join Owen in the last moments of his life but, little known to him, this is where his journey begins. A journey in which his thoughts are not his own, emotions evolve to a new level, and life itself gains greater meaning. He learns of his new role as an apprentice, studying the craft of one of three factions working for the good of both the grey and the coloured worlds. Along with his curator, Owen discovers the bureaucracy of the afterlife, says his farewells to the past, and learns of the complicated relationship between a disciple and his mentor. A story about the existential metamorphosis of one man, who collects the shattered understanding of his life and, piece by piece, reforms it into something he can call "Me".
