The Klaus family had two very different daughters. The eldest, Sylvia, wanted to stay in Cornwall and build her life up whereas Lauren wanted to leave and venture off to the big cities of England. Of course, the girls had lots of things in common. One of those things, and probably most important, was that they both knew who kidnapped Sylvia one night.
The Klaus family racked their brains, looking for their daughter, trying to cope with life without her, trying to put pieces together to work out who could have taken her. Their daughter, three years on, hadn't been found. No dead body appeared, either, so they couldn't mourn, or move on. Then one day, the younger Klaus daughter came forward, with a secret she'd burdened since her sister was taken from their bedroom. A secret that was everything to do with the family: a secret called Sylvia.
"Please Zach, tell me. Tell me what's wrong. I want to know."
"You already know."
"Zach, all I know is your parents are taking you back, and adopting me. That's it-"
"What more do you need to know?" He looked me straight in the eye.
"What they're like." I answered in almost a whisper. "Are they horrible people? Do we need to escape tonight? Go back to B-Dads? Or- or are they good people? Will they love us? Protect us? Zach, what I'm trying to say is, why did you run away from them? Are they really that bad?" He hesitated, then sighed.
"No they're not horrible people. That's not the real reason I ran away from them."
