Hope Dixon has done things that she never thought she'd be capable of in order to survive. After the Governor's assault on the prison, her family was scattered, broken, and unsure of whether they would ever find each other again. Reuniting in a train car inside Terminus was unexpected, but welcome, and together they fought their way out.

Back on the road, struggling to survive, the challenges pile up. When a new community opens its doors to her group, Daryl's lone wolf background does little to help them overcome the new struggles that come with living among strangers. Grief keeps them apart, and insecurity threatens to keep it that way.

What's more, Hope realizes that something has happened that will forever change her relationship with Daryl. How does she tell him when their relationship feels on the brink of falling to pieces?
