You think your life sucks? Try mine. I'm Melissa Sanders and I am sixteen years old. I never had a normal childhood. Since I was six my father drank and abused me and my mother. I never thought someone's life could change so much in one stupid mistake. A mistake a drunk person would make. He's the reason I don't believe in happiness, love, or hope. Because of him I don't believe any kind of happiness is possible. But in order to be happy, you need love and hope. Two things I never get...until now.

He had rules for a reason, or thats what he said. I did something wrong I got punished. I spoke out of turn, I got punished. I looked at him or ate without permission, I got punished.
