Silver Mayne is one of the fortunate ones. She has made it all ten years after The Awakening without being taken.
In that time, her parents have been training her to fight back if she were ever to be attacked.
But when her mother was taken from her home by a Harvester, Silver throws herself in the way of the blood-sucking creature, submitting to him and insisting she is taken instead.
She was younger and healthier. Silver was a much better catch than her mother.
