I have not revisited this story in years and will likely have to do some major edits/rewrites before I write a sequel. I am sorry to inform it will probably be some more years before I have the time/energy. For now, consider this a fragment of a fuller universe. It is also a peek into the process of me learning to write as well as my early attempts to deconstruct power dynamics/hierarchy/gender/etc. I appreciate anyone who has found something of worth here and I want to reassure you that I don't intend to leave this story to rest forever.
