"Reaper?" Now I had her attention.
"You don't know what you are?" I questioned.
She looked down and tilted her ears back, "I don't know anything about myself, Just that I'm here."
"Ah, well, okay... I'm a Reaper. You're a Reaper. We're supposed to guide humans until they're able to replace us. There used to be lots of them."
She looked up at me with her curious eyes and her bright yellow face. The girl listened with kit-like attention. This had to be the first time in her life that she had answers to anything at all.
"I never got to know very many of them," My voice rung, "I wish I did."
