Holly Horns, Alpha of the biggest werwolf pack on the earth, is hosting the year's mating ceremony on her lands. Inviting all to join to find their true mate. She had been alpha since defeating the pervious male alpha when she was of age for positioning in the pack.
(Y/N) was a powerful rouge shapeshifter finding her current hiding spot to be in the werewolves mating ceremony. She had a right as shapeshifters be a mate of anyone or anything but no one could prepare her for that night.
(Context and please read. In my universe shapeshifters can be a mate of any race, but for say for werewolves they may only be mates to another werewolf. Mixes or animal humans do have mixed packs where they share resources, knowledge and other important items. They usual stick to their own species, as it has been that way for many years and they can't be mates. Some also do tend to not get along at all, example werecats and werewolves, so it is also for safety. Holly is the top werewolf and is strong as her magic, mixes can also learn magic or be born with, but it is a secret magic for now.
