A different take on the sides being various impulses/ways of thinking, and fusing together to form the different parts of Thomas' personality.
Virgil keeps his past to himself out of fear and guilt. He may be a main side now, but was that what he was meant to be? Virgil never told the others about his existence prior to becoming a side. Would they still trust him if they knew what he did and who his friends use to be?
Roman called them Dark Sides, but what are they really and how is Virgil connected to them?

The anxious side had a major mishap with the creative one during one of Thomas' videos. That happened again the next day, and the day after, and again. He denies to himself that this is happening, that he's somehow repeating the same, horrible day again and again. As much as he hopes tomorrow will come, it never does. When he finally cracks, ready to accept his fate, he finds a way to make tomorrow come. Though it's going to be harder than he thought. Incrementum | Roman + Virgil | Prinxiety
Through the reveal of Remus, things between the sides have changed. Logan's advice to Thomas has been taken up by Virgil, talking to Patton and learning to grow as a side. All seemed to be going smoothly until Remus tells Roman something not so true ,and with a new dilemma facing Thomas, the sides are busting out the seems of their foundation to try and keep things together. But with a fallout between the repressed and furious feelings eating away at Virgil and Roman, a past that had never seen the light of day, and the wrath of the dark sides ready to break all that was built, the sides have to figure out a way to save all that they have. - #3 on #sanderssides 10-15-19 - I recently got into Sanders Sides and I needed to write a story with Virgil's past ASAP, I hope you enjoy it!Terminé

Virgil has been established as an important part of Thomas...and his counterparts were working on the rest. But after a while, they start to notice that he's becoming more influential, to the point that some can't accept. Is Virgil the bad guy? Or a victim being played like a pawn in the long game?
