Growing up my least favorite Disney fairy tale had been the Little Mermaid. At the young age of sixteen she decided to give up being magical for a guy. She gave away her tale and from then on she had always felt misplaced. If it were a good fairy tale she would have been able to have both.   Looking back, her choice was based on love. But through the duration of the movie she had never questioned what she would be losing, her family, her friends, her identity, she was biased and because of that she made an extremely rash choice that in the end changed her whole life forever. My sexuality is what defines me but in that moment in time I, Carter Harris was not ready to give up my magic.
