It wasn't supposed to happen like this, despite what you judgmental anal cavities are thinking. I only went to Las Vegas for an international fairy convention to drink my fairy wine and wear my glittery wings in peace. My goal was most certainly not to get married to a cocky stranger who smiled way too much, arrested and left with no choice but to call my best friends to come bail me out. But low and behold, here we are and if things are already screwed up, why not just keep on screwing?

What happens when you combine a drunken marriage, one fateful hitchhiking ride, a basket full of ferrets and trip no one will ever forget?

We aren't just 3 best friends finding love and wreaking havoc. We are UNregrettably us.

The Moving Times Of Caroline Proudly by CarolineProudly
20 parts Complete
Caroline is 16 when she suddenly decides that her perfectly normal and loving home life is absolutely and completely intolerable. Suddenly moving out of home in 1988 is the beginning of a 13 year journey. As the journey continues, the passage of time has no significance. Always with the ability to find the humorous side, each address marks another chapter in Caroline's life and is the backdrop for the people she meets and the events that occur. Accommodation varies from unheated rooms and houses with wheel-less cars jacked-up outside to Regency flats and rural cottages. Transportation means vary from a single use bicycle, to Betsa and the faithful Dwanetta. Flatmates vary from a lovely Brummie and a singing nun to a dying dog, a ginger laminator, a 3 nippled geek and an accidental spell with a local drugs baron. Events vary from harbouring boarding schoolgirls, exercising racehorses, the occasional rave, trading in shampoo and marmite on toast to looking for stolen laundry, going undercover and self-defence with a hockey stick. Jobs vary from not having one to shop work, bartending and au pair through to getting a toe on the corporate ladder. There is infatuation, and love from various sources so there is also disappointment, and breakups by varying means and for various reasons. Education varies from a bit of formal study to a large dollop of the University of Life. The latter being the real reason Caroline left home in the first place - to grow up in her own way through her own experiences with no-one else to blame but herself and the interesting hand that life deals along the way. Caroline moves home 19 times, only to find that the 20th move takes her to the last place she ever expected to be. Back where she started. Things aren't always as they seem...

Life returns behaviors. Ultimately, what is stronger? Is it what has tension with an expiration date? Or... Is it what remains in time and endures? "You are attached to the feeling you lack. Unexpected threesomes. Fighting midgets. Wrecking bathrooms. It isn't our grief that sets us apart, it is the manner in which we deal with it. Charlie Green is a mess. After surviving an accident that claimed the life of his partner and being sacked from his job, he's taken to throwing himself down the neck of every bottle of booze and into the arms of every amorous stranger that wanders across his zig-zagging path. In an increasingly desperate attempt to smother his grief, Charlie and five of his closest friends decide to ditch the materialistic bright lights of California and embark on an eight-thousand mile trip across the sea to Southeast Asia. There, caught like butterflies in a whirlwind of drug-fuelled hedonism and vice, this fellowship of idiots endeavours to figure out whether happiness is something that can ever be truly attained, or whether it's something that we spend our lives perpetually chasing. "Now, I'm not one to advocate doing drugs and then going off for a drive in the country or attempting to operate heavy machinery, but if one finds oneself in the position of having had a good snoot-full of Peruvian flake before being obliged to chuck on the fins and tank and hop into the ocean, then I'd be very much inclined to just not think too much about it and roll with the situation." Through the blur of drugs, alcohol and one-night stands, Charlie has to decide whether he's running away from the truth, seeking closure or simply heading along the slow road that leads to self-destruction.

I meet him at the right time. Or a completely wrong one, depending on the perspective you look from. I am not the one to fall head over heels in love with someone and he is not the guy someone should even fall in love with. But there are all the witty comebacks, the unplanned meetings at the bar, the rides on his motorcycle, all the laughs we share before the morning ... It does something to both of us. It changes us to the extent where we suddenly can't live without all of this. He is not a good guy. He's as bad as it gets. But he's perfect for me. I want to believe our story is a modern fairy tale with a more realistic ending. You won't get the princess-prince bullshit from me. You'll get it how it is with no sugar-coating. I was no princess and he was no prince, yet we still had something beautiful going on. For a while, at least.
