In a world where Peeta died from the forcefield and Snow succeeded in breaking Katniss.
In a world where the one dream people thought would survive blazed like a match for a few seconds but went out so quickly, throwing them into darkness.
In that black world, in the 76th hunger games, four meet and try to survive the trials.
In that same world, a tiny amount of hope tries to make its way like a little bird flying from a winter storm, with a hawk close behind.
Like a deer running from a forest fire, with a pack of wolves running with the deer.
A diseased world which may not survive the cure.

The Big Four. Four BFFs from hundreds of years ago. A series of accidental meetings that blossomed into strong friendships. Until one of them moves. And then dies. The other three are devastated by this news. They decide not to have their planned meeting when they turn 18. But fate chooses to unite the four once more. They enjoy hours of reminiscing and story-telling, and get glimpses of how life has been good to each of them. My book follows the story lines of all of the movies almost exactly. I changed RotG to better fit the timeline, though, causing Jack Frost to become a Guardian very soon after dying instead of hundreds of years later. This is a Big Four story. It is not named after Bilbo's book for any particular reason. It's based off a picture I found on Pinterest that I added to the top of each chapter. Edited, as of 3/31/16!Complete

After the ordeal with Pitch, Jack learns that 3 other spirits exist, one that was killed in a heroic sacrifice, another was killed on accident, and the last was killed by a madman. Their names are Hiccup, Rapunzel, and Merida. These 3 individuals had their own issues to deal with. And it's up to Jack to teach them, or at least try to. Meanwhile, Pitch Black has some plans of his own, and they aren't looking good for the new four.
