Lothrak Karugen is a young-blooded warrior of the Xan-Klar Empire, a new military power in the galaxy. He hopes to defend his species' future against all who would threaten them - including mankind.

Kate Michaelson is a businesswoman for a powerful corporation, based upon an alien planet far from Earth. Hers is a normal, lonely life, until she stumbles upon a great secret. One that puts her in mortal danger.

In the wake of untold devastation, these four work to unravel a conspiracy whose outcome could decide the future of billions. But to do so, they must travel to a place steeped in bloodshed and taut with unease - The Red Frontier. Fought over for decades by man and alien alike, it is a powderkeg waiting to explode and hurl the Milky Way into chaos.
