Everyone says that getting over someone "just takes time" and that one day it will stop hurting and the door will open for you to move on. But we are also told that love is eternal, that it's something extraordinary, something that will stay with you forever. However, after a breakup or loss, suddenly love becomes something you should get over after some time has passed. The contradiction is immense. Have you ever been in the middle? Like you know the love you experienced will never leave you, but to continue your life you need to get over it? I stand there. And I'm not sure if I want to get over it. I don't want the love that I had to leave me, simply because it is the most wonderful thing I have and if it's gone there is nothing else to remember when it gets bad.
