He brushed his lips against my jaw, his dark hair falling over his brow. "Open your eyes," he commanded. "Look at me." I followed his orders and looked into the raven-black depths before me. I saw my entranced gaze reflected in his glaring one. "Tell me what you see." I kept on looking at him, searching for something, anything, that remained of the person he used to be. They say the eyes are the windows to the soul. But his eyes were so dark, so empty . . . "Nothing. I see nothing," I whispered. He smirked, his gaze still on me. He pulled away, leaving me feeling cold. "Exactly. You see nothing - that's because there's nothing there." ** How much can a person change in just three years? Short and full of fiery spirit, Hanna Jordan is a gifted college student who is enrolled in one of the most prestigious culinary programs in the country. She's just returned from three years of study in France and is anxious to reconnect with her longtime friend, Rian Aronhalt. However, when she does finally see him, she's startled to find that he's become an entirely different person. Cold, ill-tempered, and exceptionally attractive, Rian is absolutely nothing like his old self. Worst of all, he claims he doesn't even remember her. Despite their differences, both are haunted by dark memories of the past, which form a poisonous bond between Hanna and Rian that neither can escape from. Can they both heal from the scars time left behind, and find love in the process?

~This book is currently finished but is ongoing for editing and changes~ I continue to look at him and his dark, blue eyes were burning through me, maintaining contact with mine as they didn't dare move away. He sure knows how to hold contact. My body was burning, every inch of it, I could feel it. It was getting way too warm in here. This man was making me feel things I didn't even know that was capable. I needed him. I certainly wanted him. I watched his gaze move down onto my lips as he pulls his bottom lip between his teeth. I didn't even notice how close he was to me until he stepped forward, closing the gap between us. I'm also baring in mind that my brother and his friends are literally right next door and here we are, being this extremely close to each other. That's what makes this even more nerve racking. One hand was holding my hip and his other hand was secured on my thigh, preventing me from falling down from the counter, his nose beginning to lightly touch the tip of mine as he lowered his forehead closer to me. The low part of my belly was aching him. I wanted him to do something. To fulfil my needs. I don't know where the hell the courage came from as the next two words fell out of me. "Kiss me." *** Aurora Rianne. A girl with painful memories from a troubled past that she does not like to be reminded of. But she can't help it as the nightmares continue to remind her of them when she falls asleep. She tries so hard to run away but they always reach her. Lyle Anderson. A man, also with a troubled past that's led him to have insomnia, but he does not like to talk about it. Nobody knows. He's never opened up to anyone. Until she came into his life. He finds himself feeling comfort in her presence and opens up, something he never thought he was capable of. When Aurora and Lyle meet, they don't know that the solution to their problems was each other. *** *Warning* This story contains mature themes

For the past 4 years that little girl has had me wrapped around her finger and I wouldn't have it any other way. Unfortunately I got stuck in traffic on the way over so I'm late for pick up. Once I get to Melanie's classroom I fill out the sign out sheet that's on the wall and make my way into the classroom. I faintly hear Melanie laughing so I know she's not upset from me being late. "Hey I'm so sorry. I got stuck in traff..." I said stopping mid sentence, stunned at the woman in front of me. Standing in front of me is someone I considered one of the most important people to me back in highschool. As soon as I looked into those Caribbean blue that I used to know so well, I knew it was her. It takes her a few seconds to realize who I am. She stands there stunned. We continue to stare at each other until she breaks the silence. "Josh?" She asks not believing it's actually me. "Hey Katie girl." Strands of your mind cling together like web to a slippery leaf bathed in the morning dew. You have seen both heaven and hell, witnessed the atrocities of war firsthand, and imagined a better life in the deepest, most intimate corners of your dreaming spirit. The wishes for peace and certainty you have once so desperately longed for, now lay trampled underneath the might of your mind's vivid horrors. What was once so bright and lively, now cowers in fear, clinging to gone memories like a shipwreck survivor to some lowly piece of driftwood. From the depths of hell, you arrived victorious, grasping the laurel wreath high above your head. Unrecognizable, with your empty eyes telling a story of innocence brutally taken away from the child curling in shame in the depths of your empty soul. Almost green you are, curly head, having grown up with a rifle by your bedside table, never knowing peace and quiet. Out of the pan that was the Kazdel Civil War and into the scorching flames of Lungmen, where life flows by on its own accord, here, you must learn to live once more. So put on your best facade, Let the reuniting trumpets ring a wild, And allow the city to swallow you whole. Here we are, a continuation of my previous work "Goodbye Curly Head", which sprawled into quite the epistle (but it wasn't really a letter, it's just long :P). Summarized in the most basic way possible, it's a story about a twenty-year-old Kazdel Civil War veteran who goes to Lungmen and has some troubles acclimating to the steady life presented before him. Sprinkle in a too-good-to-be-true offer and a freshly established logistics company, and you get Andy trying to make it big for as long as his deteriorating mental state lets him. I'd say it works as a standalone story for anyone who doesn't want to bother reading the first part. For now, at least. As always, please, pwwease leave a comment, positive, negative, I LOOOVE reading and replying to comments!!

"The things I could make you feel" He whispered as he delicately tucked a strand of my hair behind my ear that must have come out of the loose bun while staring right into my eyes with his green ones that were filled with hunger. Being this close to this asshole clouded my senses." I mean I've to get back to work." He smirked lightly, amused by my nervousness. I stepped away from him and my back met with the wall behind me. I averted my eyes away from his and started walking through the hallway towards the bar. When I reached the end of the hallway and was about to take a turn, I glanced over my shoulder. He wasn't there anymore. Rest of the night, I was trying to push him away from my thoughts. // pernicious /pəˈnɪʃəs/ adjective having a harmful effect, especially in a gradual or subtle way.
