I lie on my side in a bed and watch time pass by. Time. Falling though my raw hands. Time. It would run out for me, but never run out for itself. It would keep running with the speed of a cheetah, or toddle as hauntingly as a tortoise. Flowing beautifully through my soul and mind as I helplessly lose my clutch on reality and consciousness.

I rolled up the sleeve of my hoodie to reveal the tattoo on my right wrist. He gently grabbed my hand in both of his and ran his thumbs over the dry ink, tracing circles around it.
