Seit einigen Wochen scheint Anna, Lia's kleine Schwester, nicht mehr sie selbst zu sein. Unter ständiger Angst vermeidet sie großen Kontakt mit anderen und obwohl Lia nichts lieber täte als ihrer kleinen Schwester zu helfen, scheint sie sich nur immer weiter von ihr zu entfernen.
Als Lia sich eines morgens dazu entschließt ein klärendes Gespräch mit Anna zu beginnen, stellt sie schockiert fest, dass sie entführt wurde und macht sich voller Sorgen auf die Suche nach ihr. "Upstairs!" I hear a yell and pounding footsteps. I crawl out of the window until I'm hanging from my hands. I take a breath. I let go. ~ Living in a small town with a single mother, Mia Glenn never expected anything special to come of her life. She never thought she would go on an adventure as harrowing as the stories she read. Until one day she narrowly avoids being kidnapped, discovering in the same day a whole new universe that she is supposedly a part of. As she navigates the elven world of Earthe with the help of a particularly attractive elf boy, she learns secrets about her identity and her father's, of whom she believed had ditched her and her mom at an early age. Soon Mia discovers that peace isn't as easy as it seems, and while Earthe may be beautiful, there are dark parts that are creeping back to the light. Even in a world of perfect beings such as elves, lies can be spun as precisely as an arrow can pierce a target, and evil can sneak up on you when you least expect it. Mia is used to reading about this kind of stuff, not living it.
