Lyanna Snow was born a bastard, alongside her twin brother Jon. The two grew up inseparable from each other and were very close, especially considering the cold shoulder Catelyn Stark always gave them, which prevented them from truly feeling like part of the Stark family. After Jon leaves to take the Black and Robb declares war on the Lannisters, Lyanna was granted permission to join Robb's ranks and become a soldier. When Robb is betrayed at the Red Wedding, Lyanna barely escapes with her life and has nowhere else to go but Castle Black. There, she is reunited with her twin and thrown into everything happening north of the wall. She never expected them to make an alliance with Wildings, and she damn sure never expected to encounter wights and white walkers. 
And yet despite all of this, somehow Lyanna thinks one of the most shocking things of all was this: falling in love with Tormund Giantsbane, the stubborn ginger Wildling that she can't seem to get out of her head.
