I used to think love was all about finding someone to make you feel whole. But as the days passed, watching him laugh with his friends, I started to realize something. I was waiting for someone else to validate me, to give me the affection I craved. But the truth hit me hard-I needed to start with myself. I stopped measuring my worth by his attention, or anyone else's. I stopped seeking approval in the way I looked, the things I said, or the way I walked into a room. "Hey I'm so sorry. I got stuck in traff..." I said stopping mid sentence, stunned at the woman in front of me. Standing in front of me is someone I considered one of the most important people to me back in highschool. As soon as I looked into those Caribbean blue that I used to know so well, I knew it was her. It takes her a few seconds to realize who I am. She stands there stunned. We continue to stare at each other until she breaks the silence. "Josh?" She asks not believing it's actually me. "Hey Katie girl."
