Heaven's gates were locked for those who went against God's word. Only the good went to Heaven and those who were otherwise went to Hell. There was a trial taken place just in between for those who begged for a second chance. The angels would pray for them while Satan's demons and prisoners did the opposite. They welcomed more to suffer with them, but the one person who's trial would be taken place didn't want anything to do with them.
It was Dante's trials that would take place. Even though he did terrible things before he died, he begged for a second chance. He hoped for a second chance, because growing up he knew of God being forgiving, but how forgiving was he really?
