When Sans drunkenly kisses our favorite flaming bartender and fails to remember, Grillby feels incredibly guilty about taking advantage of his intoxication.  Sans's vague attempts at flirting and subtle cues that he may want to be more than friends are completely lost on Grillby, who's just a big dummy dumb. But one day, when the friend from the RUINs makes a strange request of Sans, he couldn't help but give her his word and make a promise. However... When he sees the subject of his promise exit the RUINs- A strange, wayward, dust-covered human- Sans questioned whether he'd be able to stay true to his word. (Feel free to leave suggestions for other stories you'd like me to write in the comments! None of the art featured here is mine.) UPDATE: Uh, so, my headcanons have changed quite a bit from when I wrote this, including Sans' attitude at some points, the Mettaton NEO situation, the Alphys evacuation, and other things. And it's precisely living together what gets you to know all the icky things about him. Until you end up falling for him with each nice little thing he does, and suddenly... It feels like all those icky things start to matter less and less. More so, when things take a sharp turn and you're in the middle of a gang fight, helping him however you can despite not knowing what you're signing up for. Overlooking details like bloody clothing, chipped teeth, and reports of missing people on the telly make seeing him drinking straight from the milk carton a much more tolerable offense.
