"Cleo, I think I'm in love with you." Jake says, as we glide to the music. My heart drops. He knew how I felt about that word, and yet he still said it. Suddenly, I am fueled with rage. Before I know what I'm thinking, I slap him across the face, hard enough that you could hear it from the other side of the auditorium.
"What the hell!?!" He yells as he holds his cheek.
"How could you?" I say as I slowly back away from him. I can feel the hot liquid that was building up behind my eyes. "How could you?" I whisper before running out of the gym.
