"Hence, in order for me to not die, he must fall in love with me." Mr Harold Brooke and Ms Jane Anderson make the perfect pair. At least on stage they do, representing the oh so tragic couple of Romeo and Juliet. But what, if Juliet was not such a delightful creature off the stage? What, if Romeo did not really care about the wellbeing of the rose of his life? What, if Juliet had not only one man? What, if Romeo did not only poison one soul? What, if stage and reality mix up until minds are struggling to tell what is an actor and what is an honest man, until minds can't tell lies and the truth apart, until Romeo and Juliet do not only act but are. A vicious love story settled in the ancient London, including liars, betrayers, psychopaths, lovers and strangers.

Penniless and lacking the looks to attract a worthy husband, Jane Burton must trick a man into marriage to save her family from financial ruin. * When Jane's father loses his family's fortune in a game of cards and swallows a bullet as a result, Jane knows it is up to her to save her family from financial ruin by marrying a wealthy man. The odds are however against Jane, for without a sizable dowry or a face lovely enough to seize the attention of a man, the only way to find a husband is to trick one into marriage by creating a scandal. But what happens when her plan fails, and the wrong gentleman is implicated? CW: This story contains mentions of suicide.
