Small town New Yorker Ever (Eve) Morester leads her bland life by taking care of her divorcee, semi- depressed father, volunteering at the local children’s shelter and desperately waiting for her acceptance letter from the fierce Journalism Program in Paris, France. But, when the letter is delivered to her home, her father turns desperately ill. In need of money for both University and her father’s medical bills, she takes the only job available at the local, run-down zoo where she meets the uttermost exciting and annoying young musician and elephant carer, Patrick Torrey with dreams of his own. As she gets to know this strange Patrick Torrey she involuntarily falls into a budding romance with him and must choose at the end of Winter, to stay and take care of her father and continue to fall in love with Patrick or travel abroad to the university of her dreams.
