~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Charlotte had already ran from the terrors that were calling her country into war.
Two years later, those same terrors caught onto her once again and this time, there was no escaping.
Choosing to enlist instead of her cousin, Charlotte is thrust into a world of chaos where her identity isn't the only thing that may end with her dead.
Her eyes see what no other woman could see, her heart feels a pain that can't be spoken, her hands attempt to heal those who are balancing on the line of death and her senses tell her this is madness.
But still, together with the men of the airborne paratroopers, every day manages to push by while her secret hangs on and threatens everything.

It's been five years since the plague struck. Leah knows there are other survivors, but she's avoiding them. She is doing just fine on her own. Surviving after everyone she knew died has made her physically strong and honed her intelligence, but she is emotionally devastated. There is nothing to fear if you don't make yourself emotionally vulnerable. James has spent the last five years helping to build up a colony of survivors. He believes in the small town they have populated and its mission to save humanity from extinction. He and his small team of men find scattered people and bring them in. Over the last two centuries, women have fought for and won more and more rights, gaining equality with men. Society, law, and technology bolsters and enforces these rights, but now they are gone. Women's equality with men is over. There are just too few of them. They aren't lesser but greater, more important, more valuable than men. Men are expendable. Men can stay outside alone if they like, but all women must be brought inside the safety of the Colony and properly taken care of. James has been searching the area Leah lives in. Her time of solitude is up. Leah sparks something in James he's never felt before. He's not letting this one get away, certainly not twice. Warning: Contains sex, some violence, occasional foul language, and adult issues. Genre: Science Fiction, Romance, Post-apocalyptic, Dark romance Length: 84,468 words This book has been published on Amazon. Having worked undercover across Europe for the majority of wartime, Juliette Chevalier has become used to living as a mere shadow of the world. Never staying in one place too long to be caught and never returning home, the only family she has known since 1939 has been the men she's served alongside. However, when the tide of the war begins to turn and the need for brute force becomes more than ever before, Juliette finds herself thrust among the ranks of a group of brash American paratroopers, and suddenly she has to learn how to live in the light again. One can never remain a shadow forever. (Based on the TV show character portrayals. All original characters and related plot lines are mine. Find it also on AO3 and Tumblr.)
