we had a devising task in drama today and i actually really liked my piece so i'mma write a script for it and see if it becomes anything
it's only like supposed to be a minute long to get used to devising techniques, so it won't be more than a chapter

it's based on a banksy piece - "Season's Greetings". the piece conveys innocence, naivety, and the aura of a facade, putting on a fake smile. that, at least, is what i tried to convey in it.

Beck is autistic and spends most of her life locked away in her own mind as she reads her collection of books to escape her abusive alcoholic father. But once her eyes meet a grey eyed boy from across the room her world won't be the same. (18+ violence, adult themes, bullying, harassment and other issues) Being Autistic myself I have put a lot of me in this book. I've exaggerated certain aspects for entertainment values but other than that this is how awkward I feel most of the time. I don't see many books by women who write about their experiences in a creative way to spread awareness in a fun and compassionate way. This is mine I guess. I am republishing this for a friend who wanted to read a sample of my work. The plot is all over the place, but I know I'll revisit it in future. I initially wrote this in 2017 before I knew a lot of things I know now. There's a lot in here that is culturally insensitive. I have done my best to edit out what I could find at first glance, but if you see something glaringly offensive please make a comment about it so that I can correct my errors.
