Samuel Johnson was just your normal teenager that gets bullied in school. His mother is the nicest person to him. Samuel was abused by his father both verbally and physically, which prompted his mother to leave the marriage. 

 After the divorce, Samuel's dad left the state and never bothered to visit Samuel or his mother again, making him feel worthless. Will they ever be happy again? Will they end up with a new family that will not have an abusive father or husband or will thing gets harder for Samuel? All that Samuel has been through leads him to low self-esteem and he ends up being diagnosed with anorexia along with depression. 

Jack Parker is the popular boy that bullies Samuel Johnson in school. One day it all changes when his father tells him that he will be getting married and wants him to move in with him. Complicating things even more is when his father tells him who his new stepmother and stepbrother will be. No other than Samuel Johnson!!

The boy at school who has been bullying Samuel for years changes his ways when he sees how sick Samuel is making himself with his illness. He tries reaching out a hand of friendship which is hard for Samuel to trust. Will Jack Parker be his shining light through his problems, or will he just make it harder? Making everything worse, Samuel finds himself falling in love with his tormentor, who hasn't always been super nice to Samuel!
