Jeevika Choudhary is a modern yet traditional girl, deeply respectful of her heritage. Her family, which includes her grandmother Beeji, paternal uncle and aunt, and her little sister Maanvi, is very close-knit. Beeji arranges a marriage alliance for Jeevika with Viren Vadhera.

Both the Vadhera and Choudhary families are delighted by the match, but they are unaware of the inner turmoil Viren and Jeevika are experiencing. Viren is not ready for the wedding and asks Jeevika to break the engagement. However, Jeevika refuses, which leads Viren to resent her.
