Startled jade eyes ran frantically across the thick foliage above and finally focussed upon his face. He rested one knee next to the makeshift pillow of dry grass wrapped in an old rag, lightly brushing the short pink hair fanning over it. Kneeling close to her groggy face, awoken from a deep sleep, he whispered:
"We have visitors."

After the Fourth Great Ninja War, Sasuke travels to seek knowledge and redemption. But when he takes Sakura, the pink-haired medical ninjutsu prodigy and his former teammate with him on one such journey, can it kindle something more in his already thawing heart for her?
Kishimoto has been very conspicuously silent about how these two characters, shipped by many fans from the beginning, come together and finally get married. The only hint that has been given is that it happens during a journey that they both embark on after the 4th Great Ninja War. This is my take on what happened during this journey and how their romance blooms.

The kunai was in her back. She panted in pain. "Sakura...." He couldn't believe she flash stepped in the path of the kunai and him. She collapsed in his arms. He looked where the kunai hit. It hit her lung, that's all he could tell. "Sasuke we should take her to Tsunade!" Naruto called as he lifted her up. "Sakura stay awake with me.." He whispered to her as her eyes started to roll back. "As do I but they had to go back to their own time," an oblivious Sasuke said, "We can't do anything but wait now. What are you doing?" Hinata let go of him and bravely took off her shirt, "W-w-we should get started on them as soon as possible then." Sasuke gulped as Hinata shyly stripped herself. Her hips swayed as she made her way to his bed. Sasuke couldn't help but lick his lips. He pulled off his shirt and threw it across the room. Sasuke rushed over to Hinata's side, admiring her voluptuous figure. He really was in love with his future wife. He began to place kisses across her jaw, "I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you." Life is an odd creature. Sometimes the expected turns out to be unexpected, and other times it's the other way around. When you add two time travelers from the future, a former avenger, and a princess of compassion, playing with timelines might turn perilous. He would never expect her to be his future, and she would never expect him to be hers. Maybe they're not meant to be together, but maybe they are. Perhaps they only need to be prodded. Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura have been tied at each other's hips since they were toddlers. Varying freak accidents unfortunately end the three up as orphans by their mid-teen years. Eventually living together, a certain 2 of the trio start to grown closer but the whole group's dynamic is thrown off when one of them makes a significant mistake one night. One wanted a restart because that mistake nearly destroyed everything. Though they needed to be careful what they wished for, because they got exactly what they wanted, and now the teens are sent spiraling down even more problems. Will their most recent be detrimental or bring Sakura and Sasuke an even deeper connection. (Sasusaku) This is a highschool fic!
