Takyi is not a human. Takyi was created by Goshi, but he does not use Takyi for evil of any sort. Takyi is merely an experiment, and a kind of child, for Goshi. He lets Takyi be almost human: school, friends, sports, chores, everything. Takyi begins to feel just like a human, the way Goshi wanted. But no matter how comfortable Takyi feels in the humane world, nothing can hide what this not-human truly is: a robot.
Goshi says that he would never hurt Takyi. Goshi says he does not want to build more robots like Takyi; he does not wish for anyone to enslave the robot kind. Takyi believes him, right up until the day that Takyi doesn't. Goshi is suspicious, and Takyi will do anything to figure out why Goshi has lied and why he keeps on lying. Even if it means breaking every rule Takyi has ever known. Even if it means going behind others' backs and betraying loved ones.
Even if it means discovering the unfathomable truth.
