{SEQUEL TO LETTERS FROM THE SKY}

"My mother told me that the world has got its plans"
7 years after the revelation that drove a wedge between Cason and Haven, their lives changed drastically.
Haven went on to return to England for University, graduating with a Master's in Art and get a big-time deal with two very popular artists. Losing both of her maternal grandparents and finding herself through new friends, she built a life for herself that she was sure she loved.
Cason got a full ride to UCLA for Lacrosse and majored in music, going on to get a recording deal with Atlantic Records and becoming a best-selling artist and extremely followed heartthrob.
After 7 years of changing lives, it would only take one fateful night to ignite feelings and open old wounds.
On a tour that takes him to London, Cason runs into Haven while at a hole-in-the-wall dive bar and for one night, she allows herself to relive the memories they made.
When he leaves to finish touring, she was sure she would never see him again.
But, as they say, life has a funny way of forcing people back together.

"Are you ever afraid of being alone?" I asked after a while. A question that had randomly popped into my mind. I wasn't expecting him to answer me, but he did. Jonah turned his face, but I didn't look back at him, I kept staring up at the skies. He turned back to the sky and took a breather before answering. "We're always going to be alone, Rose. Always. We'll be haunted by the darkness that is our own shadow, but in every shadow there's a light." He answered, as if the simplest thing in the world. I only stared at him with a dropped jaw. That was out of this world. Especially coming from Jonah. "When does it get better?" I mumbled. "It doesn't. But to go through it with someone makes it a whole lot easier." He turned back to face me. We stared at each other for a while. He'd always occasionally look down at my lips, and I'd do the same to him. I broke it off and looked back up at the sky. -=- New York City. The place of opportunities. But what shall Rose do when there's so many of them? Jonah, the seducer with a British accent, or Cameron, equally British but sweet. Her clock is ticking. She has one year to make up her mind until the exchange program takes back all their Brits and their New Yorkers return. And so the end-of-the-year party is the final strike. Either Rose chooses...or she doesn't. *WARNING* I began this book (my first book ever) when I was like 11 or 12 years old so the first chapters (idk how many) suck, not gonna lie. I had scrapped so many ideas (that I only really wrote a few chapters of) that when I was older enough to realize the story I had going so far sucked, I didn't want to scrap again, so I finished for that sake in a span of 3 years (and ended in 2014). All in all, not my greatest work, but read on if you wish. Text Copyright © droppedintoxic™ 2014
Human Status by DanickaCastro
1 part Complete
I live in a world where I am nameless. I live in a world where I do not matter except or unless I am owned by someone. I do not have rights, freedoms, joys, wishes, or aspirations. I am property. I was born and raised to belong to someone that will one day take me away like the fairy tale stories that I listened to everyday in the house I live in. I prayed every night that a handsome prince would come and take me to live in his castle just like in the books. I prayed that I would be a princess and have a kingdom just like in the books. But I was never told that the books were all lies. I was never told the true reason why I was a well sought after commodity. I was never told that I am not the only one like me. When I found out it was too late to save myself. To think and in less than 4 days I will be taken away from my current home and be in a home of my own. I sat on the simple wooden bed hoping that my owner was nice and kind. I hated to think about some of the stories that I heard about the other girls like me. I hated thinking about being exterminated because I made my owner unhappy. I thought to myself that I would try real hard to keep him happy. I remember the covenant of rules that would keep me and my owner happy. I would need to follow five rules. 1. Always obey my owner. 2. Always be available to my owner. 3. Never talk back. 4. Always agree with my owner. 5. I am not human so I cannot do human things. I wondered how pretty human women were. I was so nervous about my departure I nearly refused to leave my room. I could leave if there wasn’t anything wrong with me physically. I remember the den mother telling me not to do anything that would cause a refund or else I would be exterminated upon refund. My new owner had thirty days to return me. If he returned me and no one else was interested I would be exterminated. I would be killed because it would be thought that I was defective and no one would want a defective product.

"Everyone loves a good fantasy, but my life was turned upside down by one." What would you do if you had the ability to control the air? How about if you were suddenly brought to a world where, despite your powers, you're at the bottom of the food chain? On a fateful night, Max Walker finds himself summoned to Asterisk and contracted to Liliana Lockwood as her familiar. Forced to leave behind his life on Earth, Max begins a precarious journey into the unknown world of magic. Training as a knight, learning to control mana, battling rogue necromancers and even being mistaken for Duke Walker's son... it's just one thing after the next. But as if that wasn't bad enough, Asterisk, a world which subverts reality as you know it, may just have something to do with Max's own heaven-defying origin... and a secret that could leave the universe hanging by a thread. I've been waiting for this moment for over a year now. Hoping, dreaming, holding onto the picture in my mind what life could be like. I always thought this would never come. Thinking it's impossible for me to have a new start. Go to a new place, see new faces, meet new people. It always felt like walking through a desert with a map drawn in water. But even then, I never let go of my dream. I would close my eyes and imagine everything. How different I would feel waking up in the morning, how light my chest would feel, how more confident and comfortable I would feel. I was kind of writing my own little story in my head. And now, I'm just one zip of my suitcase away and my story will be coming to life. ------------------------------- Venus Jennings didn't just leave Harbor Ridge, she escaped it. Haunted by loss and chased by memories she can't outrun. Venus builds a quiet new life in a new town where no one knows her name or the pain she carries. She wants a fresh start in hopes to finding something she's never truly had: Peace, freedom, and maybe even love. Lucas Solace is the last person Venus thought she would ever cross paths with. He's kind, sincere, incredibly handsome and impossible to ignore. He's everything Venus believes she doesn't deserve. With his charm and persistence she slowly catches herself falling for him. She doesn't want to because trust and love doesn't come easy to her when the past she's running from still haunts her in ways she can't explain . But she wonders if letting him in might not be so dangerous after all. As Venus begins to open up to new possibilities, shadows of her past resurface forcing her to confront the reality she's been avoiding instead of just accepting to be free.

BOOK ONE: Having enough courage to run through the woods and away from the people who convinced me they were saving me was not how I believed I'd spend my day. Yet, there I went escaping from the only place I knew existed in the world. Being held captive was too much for me, especially when these people wouldn't tell me who they were or even who I was. The first moment in my life I recall very clearly. I awoke in a dark room, with recollection of everything that happened in the world except for one thing. I had no memory of myself existing, I didn't know where I was or why these men kept me from leaving. Days after I first woke I asked plenty of questions, and yet none of them were answered. The only thing I learned was that I was not allowed outside because the woods heald the most powerful magic on the planet, the most dangerous magic. It was more than just bad men and curiosity about the forest that got me to leave, it was a pull towards something; towards magic. Once I was in the forest turning back was never an option, so I put it in my head that I'd keep walking until I found a civilization or a nice paved road that would lead to safety. But that never happened because the forest has a force living through it. Believing that the forest held something strange was the easy part but experiencing it myself was something totally different. I didn't expect anything normal but I didn't expect to be completly engulfed into the forest. I was led by an unknown presence that made me truly believe it was a living being, and in fact it is. I was innocent then, but now I know that anything can be hidden under a small platform in the woods with a secret bigger than the world itself. I was given life that day, until it all ended months later; the day I took my last breath.
