Heya y'all! This is my first Varian fanfic and I have so many ideas for our little cinnamon roll! Let's thank my followers who voted on this idea, love you guys! 

Summary: While in jail, (just before Rapunzel left), Varian is sent a mysterious box that does something to him, but he doesn't know what. Not until he hears voices and slowly becomes insane and trapped in his own mind.

Yes, he redeemed himself and returned for the third season, but the lack of his presence was felt by fans everywhere throughout the entire second season of the show. So what would have happened if he had redeemed himself sooner and been there for the gang's life-changing journey throughout the second season? How would he have reacted to all those adventures he missed? Find out in this AU fanfic! You will see how he deals with his still-suspicious friends, his unrequited crush on Cassandra, and his search for a way to free his father. "Next stop, anywhere!" (Note: All rights go to Disney. This fanfic basically reads like a novelization of the second season, while also adding artwork and my own original Varian content.)

So if you spot any letters encased in angled brackets, I apologize, it's how I italicize words, strike them out, and format for AO3. I will do my best to edit them out for you. Varian and the Seven Kingdoms (Varian's Seven Trials) by raccoonfather

This is my take on the idea of a Varian spin-off series of Tangled: The Series/Rapunzel's Tangled Adventure. The AU was presented to Disney by storyboarders Kay Ritter and Anna Lencioni who took a liking to Varian's character and decided to create a story for him in his later years; detailing the adventures he might go on and the friends he makes along the way.
